John Burrescia is an American-Italian artist. Born in Southern California at the height of World War II and raised in Los Angeles. At a very young age John’s teachers acknowledged his talent. And guided him in his artistic abilities. While in elementary school he designed the cover for the school annual. Then in high school, he produced many art exhibits for the school which included personal displays of portraits and various works of art.
After graduation John enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Once his service was completed with the military, he moved to San Francisco, where he attended college and continued his studies in the arts.
Throughout the years John has painted hundreds of portraits, landscapes and seascapes. As with all his work, John has honed a style all his own. With a realism akin to the masters. His favorite of all his paintings are his portraits which he takes special pride and holds dear to his heart.
John has been a member of the San Gabriel Fine Arts Association and the San Diego Portrait Society and has won several awards with each. He continues to study in the fine arts and thrives on excellence. Always working on his style and creative abilities, perfecting his detailed and lifelike works of art.
Now living and working in San Diego, California John is pleased to call this diverse and beautiful city home.
John’s paintings have been sold all throughout the United States as well throughout the world. Always touching those who view and admire his work.
